Reported discrepancies

What the crew reported about the aircraft. This system does not manage maintenance: what it does is make sure the report arrives and that you can see whether it is still open.

When each aircraft goes on the ground

Maintenance puts in two numbers per aircraft: what it has today and what its next limit is. The system puts in the rate, which it knows because every signed logbook says so. A date comes out of the two. There are no work orders or parts control here: that is a maintenance system, and this is not one.

The crew month

One row per person and one column per day, like the file built by hand today. Below it, how the month came out distributed.

Mark unavailable

Vacation, IOE, recurrent, leave, office duty, medical… It is written to the calendar and the auto-assigner gives no flights on those days.

The skeleton first — days off, weekends and SBY — then the flying. The other way round, everyone ends up flying all thirty days.

IOE — line training

Pick the day and the aircraft: the IO, the instructor and the safety pilot go on every leg of that aircraft that day. It is set by hand: "Redo the month" does not touch it, and whoever the system had put in those seats is replaced by the automatic assignment.

The month, day by day

How it came out distributed

Each person against the average of their own rank. A captain is compared with captains, not with first officers.

Flight swaps

First authorize what gets published. Then, from the requests, approve ONE: that flight goes to the taker and the flight they give goes to the offerer. Only those two flights move. Caps per person: {a} open offers, {b} swaps a month (Settings).

Crew currency and expiries

Licences, medicals, type ratings and recurrent training. An expired certificate grounds the holder: crew assignment skips that person from the day after it expires. What has not been loaded yet grounds nobody, and shows as "no record" until the airline chooses to require it.

Crew assistant

You talk to it in plain words. It checks the roster, the papers and the duty periods, resolves what it can and tells you what it did. It does not assign by hand: legality is guaranteed by the engine.

The assistant works with your real operation data. Every decision is logged with its reason.

Planning assistant

You talk to it in plain words. It generates the month’s flights from the schedule and assigns the tails (aircraft). It does not assign by hand: aircraft position, turnaround and maintenance are guaranteed by the engine.

The assistant works with your real operation data. Every decision is logged with its reason.

The schedule

The lines that generate each day of flying. Editing one does not change the flights already created: you are told how many there are and you regenerate the days when you choose to.

The days: 1 is Monday and 7 is Sunday. 12345 is Monday to Friday, 67 the weekend, 1234567 every day. Times are local to the airport; if the arrival is earlier than the departure it is taken as a flight arriving the next day.

Review the day

What has to be solved before handing the day to Operations. Station balance says the day closes; this says it closes for every aircraft, which is not the same thing.

Already born late

Legs on a day that has not happened yet, inheriting a delay they cannot absorb on the ground. This is not a forecast: it is arithmetic on what is already scheduled. A given day may come out perfect — what this says is where the schedule is betting against its own history.

What to fix in the schedule

The diagnosis looks back because there is no other source: the only way to know a flight does not fit its slot is to see what happened. What comes out of it points forward — the time that has to change and the flights already created with the one that does not work.

Set up the operation

Upload the files exactly as you keep them today: Excel, CSV or PDF. Everything is checked in full before anything is written to the database.

An example file with the columns the system recognises and two sample flights. Open it in Excel, delete the two examples and paste your schedule over them.

1 · Confirm how dates are read

Season for this schedule

Almost no schedule file carries the dates row by row: set them once here and they apply to the whole file. If the file does carry them as a column, the column wins.

2 · Confirm the columns

The ones marked were recognised automatically. Check they are right and fill in the rest.
